Important Information

John TuckerDear CCS Family,

I am honored and eager to serve as your new superintendent and I look forward to working alongside our talented educators and staff members to accomplish our 2020 system and school goals. The belief “it is all about the students” will continue to drive our decisions as we work to support the very important work being done in our classrooms to help every student reach their full potential. With much preparation and plans in place leading to student and staff success, I am looking forward to serving and supporting this endeavor.

One of the first initiatives will be the implementation of the System Steering Committee (SSC) composed of teachers from each school. The purpose of the SSC is to enhance and increase district transparency of ideas and recommendations. The SSC teacher participants, parents, and students will serve as voting members on the team and will review Focus Area 1-5 recommendations made by the Central Office Focus Area Committees. The SSC will either agree with details as proposed or offer other recommendations. The formation of the SSC is just one of the ways we are partnering with our teachers, parents, and students to further our mission of student success.

As we prepare to usher in the new year, let's allow the reminder below to guide us in all we do:

May the dawn of this New Year fill your heart with new aspirations,

Open up new horizons and bring about promises of brighter tomorrows.

Sincerely,
John Tucker, Ed.D.
