TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Special Education Teacher of the Year 2016-2017

Special Education teacher of the year

Mrs. June Pounds was recently recognized as Camden County Schools Special Education Teacher of the Year at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. Mrs. Pounds is certified in math as well as special education and over the past year has been tasked with teaching Foundations of Algebra for our most at-risk students. Mrs. Pounds co-teaches Analytic Geometry to prepare our sophomores for the EOC in May and has proven over and over again with her EOC results that she builds a great rapport with her students and excels at getting her students to reach her expectations. Mrs. Pounds also co-teaches Advanced Mathematical Decision Making to help prepare our seniors for college. She was recognized to be a great fit for these roles and has risen to the challenge. Mrs. Pounds has handled teaching three different subjects with three different co-teachers all while maintaining the workload that comes with being a special educator as well as anyone could ask for. It is for these reasons that Mrs. Pounds was named our Special Education Teacher of the Year 2017.
