St. Marys Student Jumps Into Action

St. Marys Student Jumps Into Action

When an emergency happens, sometimes the smallest of super heroes have to jump into action. That was the case before Thanksgiving break when St. Marys Elementary 4th grader, Rylan Norrell, saw one of his fellow students choking on the bus.
Rylan said he noticed a younger student swallow a quarter and start to choke. Rylan knew he had to help so he performed the Heimlich maneuver on the younger student and dislodged the quarter. When asked how he knew the life-saving procedure, Rylan credited watching Youtube videos for showing him how to respond.
We are so proud of Rylan's level-headed thinking and quick response to the situation. Awesome job, Rylan!
