GOSA Score for 2025 82.3

KINGSLAND, GA – It is a great day to be a Cougar! Camden Middle School is celebrating a major academic milestone this week following the release of the 2025 accountability scores from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA).

The state announced that Camden Middle School earned a Single Score of 82.3 for the 2024-2025 school year. This impressive rating places CMS well above the state average and serves as a testament to the "Grit" and determination of the students, faculty, and community.

Breaking Down the Score

The GOSA Single Score is a comprehensive look at how a school is performing. It isn't just based on one test; it’s a weighted average of several key "pillars" of education:

Component

Weight (Middle School)

What it Measures

Content Mastery

30%

How well students know the core subjects (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies).

Progress

35%

How much academic growth students made compared to similar peers across Georgia.

Readiness

20%

Preparedness for high school, including literacy levels and attendance.

Closing Gaps

15%

Success in ensuring all student subgroups are meeting achievement targets.

A Culture of Excellence

This 82.3 score follows a year of significant momentum for the school. Earlier in 2025, CMS was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a "Math Leader" for outstanding achievement in high school-level math courses and showed "Gateway Growth" in 6th and 7th-grade literacy.

What's Next for the Cougars?

While the school pauses to celebrate this achievement, the work doesn't stop. CMS plans to use the data from the GOSA report to continue tailoring instruction to meet every student’s needs.
