Attention: Private School Representatives and Parents of Private/Home Schooled Students with Special Needs:

Please join Dr. Vannetta Melton, Director of Special Education, for a meeting on Thursday, May 30th, at 9:00 am at the Professional Learning Building, room 103, located at 311 South East Street, Kingsland, GA.  The purpose of our meeting is to have a dialogue regarding special education services that may be available to private or home schooled students with identified disabilities.

A proportionate share of IDEA funds are utilized for the provision of services.  The meeting on May 30th will be used to determine how we continue to provide services for eligible students.  Suggestions and input are valued and needed.

Attention Parents of Homeschool and Private School Students!!

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that the local school system discuss with parents available services for students identified with a disability or suspected of having a disability. If you would like to consider services for students with disabilities through a formal meeting or through conference call, please contact Dr. Vannetta Melton, Special Education Director, 311 South East Street, Kingsland, GA 31548 for more information. 

Important Note:  Moving to Camden County Schools?

Students with special needs moving to our district.  The following records are needed prior to enrollment:

  • Initial Eligibility Determination or Most Recent Reevaluation Eligibility  Determination (within 3 years)
  • Current IEP (within 1 year)

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Ashley Cribbs on being selected as the 2018 Camden County Schools Special Education Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Cribbs was recently recognized by the Coastal Georgia Learning Resources System at a ceremony in Richmond Hill.  She teaches at Crooked River Elementary School and is known for making each student feel appreciated and building their self-esteem to achieve beyond their documented ability levels.
