Camden County Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Coach Jon Lindsey as the new Head Football Coach of the Camden County High School Wildcats. Coach Lindsey assumes leadership of the program following the departure of Coach Travis Roland.

Coach Lindsey brings extensive experience, a proven record of success, and a deep connection to the Camden County football tradition. A respected defensive mind, Coach Lindsey served as the Defensive Coordinator during the Wildcats' state championship seasons in 2008 and 2009, and again when Camden advanced to the state semifinals in 2023. He also previously served as Head Coach/Athletic Director at Irwin County High School, leading the Indians to the state semifinals in 2013.

Recognized for his focus on defense, discipline, and player development, Coach Lindsey has built a reputation for fielding teams that play with toughness, precision, and pride. His leadership emphasizes accountability, preparation, and teamwork, principles that mirror the values of Camden County Schools.

"In our community, football is part of the local identity. Friday night lights bring people together, bridging differences and creating shared traditions that last for generations. Coach Lindsey has been a critical part of establishing our identity. His leadership is grounded in simplicity, grit, and discipline," said Superintendent Dr. Tracolya Green. "He knows what it takes to build a championship culture and will continue the proud defensive tradition that defines Wildcat football."

The decision follows the release of former head coach Travis Roland. Superintendent Dr. Green expressed gratitude for Coach Roland's contributions and emphasized the district's commitment to continuity and excellence within the program.

"Having a head coach who knows Camden, its people, its values, and its expectations is vital during this transition," Dr. Green continued. "Coach Lindsey's passion for this community and his understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest classification of football in Georgia make him the right person to lead our Wildcats forward."

A community introduction event for Coach Lindsey will be held in December, where families, alumni, and supporters are invited to welcome him to his new role.
