Recently, our Central Office Administrators, Principals, Assistant Principals, Counselors, and School Social Workers completed Behavior Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) training facilitated by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA). This important training equips our leaders with the tools to better identify, assess, and respond to potential safety concerns, ensuring a proactive approach to keeping our schools safe and supportive learning environments.

We are grateful to GEMA for providing this critical training and to the Camden County Board of Commissioners for hosting us at the beautiful new Resiliency Operations Center in Kingsland.

Using marshmallows and spaghetti noodles, students worked together to construct creative structures, demonstrating team spirit and resilience even when things didn’t go as planned.

Safety Reminder!

School safety remains our highest priority. Families, we need your partnership in reminding and educating your children about the seriousness of making threats. What may seem like an innocent prank, or simply something said out of anger or frustration, can carry very serious consequences. Every threat, whether real or fake, demands an immediate law enforcement response, disrupts learning, and can result in life-changing legal prosecution.

We take EVERY threat seriously and will continue working closely with the St. Marys Police Department, Kingsland Police Department, and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office to ensure swift and decisive responses to all threats.

The safety of our students and staff will always be our top priority. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Protecting with Purpose,

Chief Kizzi Knight

✂️📚 Our students at Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School are putting their growth mindsets into action in STEM class!

This week, students were challenged to think outside the box! Each student was given a single piece of paper and a pair of scissors and asked, “Can you fit your entire body through this piece of paper without ripping it?” Several of our creative learners rose to the challenge and succeeded!

🚢➕📊 What do the Titanic and math have in common?
Teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving!

This week at Camden Middle School, 6th grade math students from Miss Smith, Mrs. Million, Miss Miller, and Mrs. George’s classes put their skills to the test in a hands-on challenge, “getting everyone off the sinking ship to dry land.”

The day was filled with collaboration, critical thinking, and lots of cheering as students navigated obstacles and celebrated each other’s successes. 🌊👏

Way to go, Cougars!🐾
