SMES had a busy and "stretchy" time in Spanish class! Things got a little messy (and fun!) as they made custom slime to mold and form their Spanish number words. There’s no better way to remember uno, dos, tres than with some goo!

Brag Tag Winners: A huge shoutout to their K-5 winners! These students showed incredible effort and participation. ¡Excelente trabajo! 🏆

Mrs. Walker’s fifth-grade students at MLGES had a fun opportunity to review ELA standards during an egg hunt activity. Students worked with partners to answer questions and practice important skills such as using context clues, analyzing figurative language, and fine-tuning their editing skills. To make the day even more special, students also got to spend time with Mrs. Walker’s pet rabbit, Bun Bun. Bun Bun enjoyed hopping around outside while students worked together and enjoyed the beautiful day.

In Ms. Johnson’s 3rd grade class at MHES, students worked on designing zoo enclosures to learn about area and perimeter! Students first worked to calculate the area and perimeter and then started designing. Students proudly shared their enclosures and explained how they used math to create the perfect home for their animals. 💓

Mrs. Donna Andrews's gifted 3rd-grade class from KES had an unforgettable trip to the Florida Agricultural Museum. They explored history at sites like Castillo de San Marcos, Fort Matanzas, and Fort Mose—the first free Black settlement in America.
Students experienced colonial life by making candles, playing traditional games, and engaging in hands-on activities like woodworking and weaving. They even participated in a mock excavation, discovering artifacts and fostering teamwork.
The adventure wrapped up at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, where they observed crocodiles and exotic birds. This exciting day tied perfectly into their project-based learning unit on Medieval Archaeology.

On Friday, March 13th, Mrs. Martin’s Kindergarten class at MLGES prepared for Spring by building a butterfly garden. With the help of Mr. Martin, students measured, drilled, and hammered wood to build the flower box. Students pulled weeds and discussed soil and rocks. Butterfly attracting plants were planted in the ground waiting for the butterflies to hatch in their classroom. Finally, a lesson was taught on living and non-living organisms!

SES Eagles rolled up their sleeves and got to work making their campus even more beautiful last week! 💚 From planting to picking up, the students showed what it means to take pride in their school and serve their community.
This special day aligns with Georgia’s Statewide Day of Service, inspired by 2026 Teacher of the Year Rachel Kinsaul—encouraging students to engage in meaningful service, build connections, and take ownership of the world around them.
We are so proud of these Eagles for their hard work and heart for service!

🌤️ Some weeks feel heavier than others—and that’s okay.

With busy schedules, deadlines, and everything happening at once, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. This is your reminder that tough moments are temporary. Just like cloudy days pass, brighter ones are on the way.

Take things one step at a time, give yourself grace, and don’t forget—you’re not in this alone. 💙
