Camden County High School has been selected to host the 2026 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Dual Wrestling State Championships on January 16–17, 2026, marking a historic moment as the first-ever GHSA state championship event of any sport to be held in Camden County.
This milestone is a direct reflection of the dominance and dedication of the Camden County High School wrestling program, which has captured 12 state titles since 2012, including an unprecedented 11 consecutive championships.
“This is something our program and our community have worked toward for years,” said Head Wrestling Coach Jess Wilder. “To finally bring the GHSA Dual Wrestling State Championships home to Camden County is not only an honor—it’s a reward for the hard work of our athletes, coaches, families, and supporters. We’re ready to showcase what makes Camden wrestling, and Camden County, special.”
Sixteen elite teams from across the state of Georgia will travel to Camden County to compete for the coveted title, bringing with them fans, families, and community pride. The event is expected to generate significant tourism and economic impact throughout the region, with local hotels, restaurants, and businesses poised to benefit.
Superintendent Dr. Tracolya Green expressed her excitement for what the event represents:
“This is a historic event for our district and our entire county. Hosting a GHSA State Championship is something that’s never been done here before, and we are thrilled that it will happen here in Camden for our student-athletes, families, and community. It’s a testament to the excellence of our wrestling program and a tremendous opportunity to show the rest of Georgia the strength of our students and the warmth of our community.
