On Thursday morning, October 9, 2025, David L. Rainer Elementary School (DLRES) held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a full renovation over the summer. The project, completed in August 2025, was made possible through ESPLOST tax dollars and reflects the community's continued investment in providing high-quality learning environments for Camden County students.
Board of Education members, Central Office administrators, and Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Alison Shores joined DLRES students, faculty, and staff for the celebration. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, laughter, and excitement as everyone gathered in the school's bright and welcoming rotunda.
Adding to the fun, Stripes, the school's beloved tiger mascot, entertained the crowd by leading the wave and encouraging cheers from the energetic students. The roar of the little tigers chanting, "Cut it! Cut it! Cut it!" filled the room as the ribbon was officially cut, signaling a new beginning for the school community.
This was the best ribbon cutting ever! said Alison Shores, reflecting the joyful spirit of the morning.
Principal Corey Wilson shared his gratitude and pride in seeing the project come to life.
This renovation represents more than just new walls and floors. It is a reflection of the love and support our community has for our students. Our school has always been full of heart, and now we have a space that truly matches the energy, excitement, and excellence of our Tigers.
The newly renovated David L. Rainer Elementary stands ready to continue its proud tradition of learning and growth within refreshed and modernized walls that will serve students for years to come.
