Twelve Camden County 4-H members recently represented their community with pride at the Georgia 4-H Southeast District Project Achievement competition, held February 6–8 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Georgia. The annual event brought together hundreds of students in grades 7–12 from 39 counties across Southeast Georgia to showcase their skills, knowledge, and dedication in 49 different project areas.
Project Achievement is a cornerstone program of Georgia 4-H, designed to help students develop leadership, public speaking, and research skills while exploring personal interests and career pathways.
Camden County 4-H was represented by 12 outstanding students who competed at both the junior and senior levels. At the junior level, Jordan Bradford of St. Marys Middle School and Grace Cheng, a homeschool student, delivered impressive performances. Grace earned first place in the Crafts project area, showcasing her creativity and technical skill, while Jordan placed second in Dog Care and Training, highlighting his knowledge and dedication to animal care.
At the senior level, 10 Camden County students competed across nine different project categories: Mason Ayanon, Ezekiel Brooks, Isabelle Burks, George Cheng, Sophie Green, Oliver Guynes, Madison McDonald, Cheyenne Strickland, Natalya Verdesoto, and Charlie Wescott. Each student demonstrated strong preparation, confidence, and professionalism, serving as excellent ambassadors for Camden County throughout the weekend.
Several seniors earned top honors for their exceptional efforts. Isabelle Burks placed third in the Environmental Science category, while Ezekiel Brooks earned first place in the Performing Arts–Dance category. As a result of his first-place finish, Ezekiel will advance to the Georgia 4-H State Project Achievement competition, where he will represent the Southeast District.
In addition to individual awards, all participants gained valuable experience in public speaking, goal setting, and leadership. The competition also provided opportunities for students to connect with peers from across the region, build friendships, and grow in confidence.
Camden County 4-H leaders and volunteers praised the students for their dedication and hard work. Their success reflects months of preparation, support from families and mentors, and a strong commitment to excellence.
Camden County 4-H is proud of all participants for their achievements and looks forward to seeing their continued growth and success in future competitions.
