Dear Camden Families,
Due to the widespread impacts of Hurricane Helene and power outages in Camden County, Camden County Schools will remain closed on Monday, September 30, 2024. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We want to ensure that everyone has access to the necessary resources and a safe learning environment.

Good afternoon families,

School Closures in Response to Hurricane Helene

The safety of our students, employees, and their families will always be our first priority.
In any emergency, it is critical for parents and students to rely on accurate, timely information directly from the school system or local and state officials. All official announcements regarding schools will be made on the Camden County Schools website, Facebook and Instagram pages, through the Camden County Schools app, on local radio stations – KBAY 106.3 and WECC 89.3, and on the Tribune and Georgian website. Please check one or more of these sources for updates regarding future decisions.

Dear Camden Families,
Camden County Schools, in cooperation with GDOT and KPD, is committed to ensuring the safety of all our students, and we are pleased to inform you of a new initiative to enhance traffic safety around our schools.
New traffic cameras have been installed at the following locations:
📍David L. Rainer Elementary School
📍Matilda Harris Elementary School
📍Camden Middle School
📍Wildcat Drive at Camden County High School
These cameras are now operational and have been issuing warnings to drivers. Please be advised that starting today, Wednesday, September 25th, traffic citations will be issued to violators during school hours. This measure aims to encourage safe driving practices and protect our children as they travel to and from school.
We urge all drivers to adhere to speed limits and traffic regulations, especially in school zones. Your cooperation is invaluable in our collective effort to create a safe environment for our students.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter. Drive safely and help us protect our children.

Dr. Colgrove's third-grade class at Crooked River Elementary recently explored "Dear Primo," a heartwarming story of two cousins sharing their lives through letters. Inspired by the book, the students made their own papalotes (kites) using newspaper. Rainy weather couldn't dampen their spirits; they used a fan to fly their kites indoors! The kids had a blast, proving that a little creativity can turn a rainy day into an unforgettable learning adventure. Great job, third graders! 🌧️🪁📚
