❤️National Principals Month❤️

Today we’re celebrating Dr. Mark Lang, Principal of St. Marys Middle School!

“I love that I have the opportunity to teach students and staff to believe in themselves and each other. We speak daily about our Bobcat Culture, and each letter in ‘Bobcat’ represents an attribute we aspire to have each day. The first ‘B’ is for believe. People will always believe in us and for us before we believe in ourselves. I love that I have the privilege and opportunity to believe for the best in others, to see their potential before they even know it is there.”

Thank you, Dr. Lang, for leading with heart and inspiring your Bobcat family to believe in themselves and each other! 🐾❤️

👁️ World Sight Day 2025 is here!
Held every second Thursday in October, this global day of awareness highlights the importance of eye care and preventing avoidable blindness and vision loss. This year’s theme from the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) is “Love Your Eyes.” 💙

At Camden County Schools, we’re proud to support healthy vision through our “Sight for Kids” Vision Van Program.🚐
Since up to 80% of what a child learns is vision-based, our Vision Van provides free eye screenings, exams, and prescription glasses directly at schools — removing barriers like cost and transportation so every child can see and succeed.

👓 Let’s all take a moment to #LoveYourEyes and protect the vision that shapes our future.

💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mrs. Terri Slattery, Principal of Sugarmill Elementary School and CCS Principal of the Year! When asked what she loves most about serving her students and staff, Mrs. Slattery shared: “What I love most about serving the students and staff at Sugarmill is the people — they’re truly the heart of everything I do. The joy on students’ faces as they walk through the doors, their excitement when they finally ‘get it,’ the stories, treasures, and little notes they share remind me every day why I chose this profession. I love being part of their growth, helping them work through challenges, and celebrating their successes along the way. Our teachers are equally special. They’re not just colleagues — they’re my Sugarmill School family. We laugh and cry together, lean on each other, and share the ups and downs that come with the job. Supporting them, both personally and professionally, brings me great joy. After more than 40 years in education, it’s the people — the students and the staff — who continue to inspire me and keep me excited to come to school every day.” Thank you, Mrs. Slattery, for leading with heart and creating a school community where everyone feels valued and inspired. 💙 #NationalPrincipalsMonth #BElieveinCAMDEN #WeAreCamden

💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mrs. Denise Millan, Principal of Woodbine Elementary School!

When asked to describe her school community in one word, she chose “family.”

“At Woodbine, we care deeply about one another — students, staff, and families alike. We celebrate each other’s successes and show up when life gets hard, both inside and outside of school. Whether it’s supporting a colleague through a tough day or rallying around a student who needs extra encouragement, we share a sense of connection and purpose that goes beyond our daily work. It truly feels like home.”

Thank you, Mrs. Millan, for leading with heart and creating a place where everyone belongs. 💙
