Over 30 students from Camden Middle School and St. Marys Middle School participated in the Sources of Strength Peer Leader Training this week!

Sources of Strength is a program that utilizes an upstream approach to suicide prevention that encourages people to recognize and activate the strengths they have in their lives. Using the power of peer influence and positive messaging, SOS Peer Leaders help show others how to get through the ups and downs of life.

These students are nominated by faculty and staff due to being leaders in their peer groups. During this interactive training, our newly minted peer leaders receive instruction on how to share messages of hope, health, and strength throughout their school community!

🚍 Bus Safety Reminder: Let’s Keep Our Students Safe! 🛑

As we observe National School Bus Safety Week, we want to remind everyone in our community to take a few extra moments to help protect our students as they travel to and from school each day.

The morning and afternoon commutes are some of the busiest times on our roads, and a little extra patience and attention go a long way!

🚗 For Drivers:
Stop for school buses when the stop arm is extended and red lights flash.
Obey all posted school zone speed limits.
Never pass a stopped school bus from either direction when required by law.
Stay alert for students near roadways, bus stops, and crosswalks.

🎒 For Parents & Students:
Arrive at the bus stop a few minutes early and wait a safe distance from the road.
Cross only when instructed by the driver, and always look left, right, and left again.
Use designated crosswalks and never cross behind a school bus.
Put phones and headphones away while walking to stay aware of surroundings.

Thank you for doing your part to ensure every student arrives safely and returns home with a smile!

A fire alarm was activated this afternoon at Camden County High School. Students and staff are safe and there was no fire located.

Last week, Mamie Lou Gross Elementary students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades all got a chance to meet with local firefighters to learn about fire safety!🔥

The firefighters showed the students what they look like in their safety gear, all of the important features of a fire truck, and discussed how to stay safe in case of a fire! 🚒

We love seeing our students build the knowledge and confidence they need to make safe choices at home and at school!

Our Pre-K Tigers tested apple slices in lemon juice, soda, and water to see what keeps them from turning brown! 🍋🥤💧 The next day, they recorded their findings like true scientists (hint: vitamin C saved the day!).

We love seeing our youngest Tigers explore and learn every day!
