This trophy represents students’ at CCHS incredible win at the Masonry Showcase in Florida last April—and the success hasn’t stopped there!
Out of 35 competitors, all 10 Camden masonry students finished in the top 14, with 7 placing in the top 10 overall. That’s an outstanding showing of skill, dedication, and craftsmanship.
Even better, two of last year’s competitors are now advancing to the state masonry contest, with hopes that one will go on to represent CCHS at the national level.

Last week, second grade students at MHES spent the week learning about procedural texts. Mrs. Tharpe & Ms. Noel’s classes wrapped up the week with an extra sweet one! They read and applied their step following skills by making dirt & worms! What a delicious Friday treat! ❤️

Camden County 4-H was represented by 12 students at the Georgia 4-H Southeast District Project Achievement, held February 6–8 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton. The event brought together 7th–12th grade 4-H’ers from 39 Southeast Georgia counties to compete in 49 project areas.
At the junior level, Grace Cheng earned 1st place in Crafts, and Jordan Bradford placed 2nd in Dog Care and Training. Senior-level competitors included Mason Ayanon, Ezekiel Brooks, Isabelle Burks, George Cheng, Sophie Green, Oliver Guynes, Madison McDonald, Cheyenne Strickland, Natalya Verdesoto, and Charlie Wescott. Top senior honors went to Ezekiel Brooks, who placed 1st in Performing Arts–Dance and advancing to the state competition, and Isabelle Burks, who placed 3rd in Environmental Science.

We are proud to recognize Lynn Smith, Woodbine Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year, and a dedicated 3rd Grade Math teacher with 5 years in education!
Mrs. Smith became a teacher because of her love for helping children grow and develop healthy mindsets, while ensuring they always know they have someone in their corner. She is passionate about creating a supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to take risks and believe in themselves.
The best part of her job is watching her students gain confidence and light up when they finally grasp a concept they have been working hard to understand. Those “aha” moments are what make teaching so rewarding for her.
Fun fact: Mrs. Smith is a big movie buff and enjoys discovering new films in her free time.
If she weren’t a teacher, she would be a police officer. When she’s not in the classroom, she loves to unwind by going for a hike and spending time outdoors.
Her motto: “Mistakes mean you're learning. Fixing them is how you grow.”

Seven boys from a sleepy little town in South Georgia, training with minimal resources, showed up at the GHSA 6A State Championship and finished 14th out of 34 teams. That result speaks volumes about the caliber of these athletes.

On Friday, the CCHS Rifle Team had its last regular season match and capped off its 6th straight undefeated GHSA and area 3 championship with a score of 1166 over Statesboros 1086. The top gun Friday night was Junior Bryson Guerry with an outstanding PR of 294! He becomes the 3rd team member to auto qualify as an individual for the State Championship. Senior Braydon Ogden had a 292. Briana Dougherty scored a 291. Lane Roberts rounded out the counters with a solid 289. Sophomore Destiny Petiote had a pr with a 287!

During the visit, students participated in a scavenger hunt, explored the model train display complete with a working train, and learned more about the City of Kingsland and Camden County.
