✨ Teacher Tuesday Spotlight ✨
This week, we are proud to celebrate Mrs. Wendy Pheil, our Ninth Grade Algebra teacher with 26 years in education!
Mrs. Pheil became a teacher to help students understand the possibilities and opportunities available to them through hard work and perseverance. She loves helping students overcome their fears of failing and finds the greatest reward in seeing the pride on their faces when their hard work pays off. For her, her students are the absolute best part of her job, and their success is incredibly important to her.
A fun fact: over the course of her career, Mrs. Pheil has taught five students who went on to play professionally in the NFL, and she proudly supports the Georgia Bulldogs! 🐾 If she weren’t a teacher, she says she would be a dog trainer. When it’s time to unwind, she enjoys reading a great book.
Her favorite motto: “Blessed are the flexible, for they bend and do not break.” 🌟

November is National Gratitude Month — a time to pause and reflect on the people and places that fill our hearts with appreciation.
Superintendent Dr. Tracolya Green shared what she’s most grateful for:
“I am truly grateful to be part of a school system that is family, one that I love with all my heart and that my children love just as much. Every day, I am inspired by the bright young minds I have the privilege to lead and the incredible educators who pour their hearts into our students. This community is my home, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve and make a difference as superintendent.”

💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Dr. James Phillips, Principal of Camden County High School!
When asked what advice he would give to students as they work toward their goals, he shared,
“Success does not happen overnight. It is built through small, steady steps every day. Focus on making progress, not being perfect. Perfection can be discouraging, but consistency builds confidence and real progress. You don’t need to have everything figured out or get everything right the first time. What matters most is showing up, putting in steady effort, and learning from your mistakes. Whether it’s studying, practicing a skill, or working toward college or career goals, small consistent actions add up over time. When things get tough, remember that every challenge is helping you grow stronger and more prepared for what’s ahead. Keep showing up, keep learning, and trust that your effort will pay off. Go Wildcats!!!”
Thank you, Dr. Phillips, for your steady leadership and your commitment to helping students grow through perseverance, purpose, and pride. 💙

💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mrs. Danielle Pocernik, Principal of Crooked River Elementary School!
When asked what she loves most about serving the students and staff at her school, she shared,
“I love serving students and staff at our school because of the unique strength and resilience that come from being part of a military-connected community. Growing up as a military-connected child myself in Camden County, I have repeatedly witnessed the courage, adaptability, and connections this community fosters for our students each day. The staff here at the River provides endless passion, support, and understanding to each of our families. I feel blessed to lead a group of educators who put their best foot forward each day to support not only our military-connected families, but all families throughout our school. Their ability to adapt, communicate, and support one another is a true testament to how they respond in and outside of the classroom. Blessed to be a River Dolphin and lead this incredible group of people!”
Thank you, Mrs. Pocernik, for your compassionate leadership and dedication to a community built on strength, connection, and care. 💙

💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mr. Corey Wilson, Principal of David L. Rainer Elementary School!
When asked what he loves most about serving the students and staff at his school, he shared,
“I’ve always known that I was meant to be an educator. Helping others and watching them succeed has always filled my cup. Whether it’s a student achieving academic success, an athlete reaching new goals, a peer growing in their teaching practice, or a staff member building their capacity to lead, I find great joy in seeing people develop and thrive. As a principal, I’m fortunate to experience that every day, sometimes in the simplest moments, even something as small as greeting someone and helping them start their day on a positive note.”
Thank you, Mr. Wilson, for leading with heart and creating a school community where growth, encouragement, and success are part of every day. 💙

💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mr. Daniel Davis, Principal of Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School!
When asked what inspired him to become a principal, he shared,
“What inspired me to become a principal was the calling I have for working with students and families, and the joy that comes from watching their growth and progress unfold in the classroom setting. As a teacher, I found it incredibly rewarding to build relationships with students and see the difference that consistent support, high expectations, and a strong classroom culture could make in my students’ academic and personal development. Over time, I began to see how that same impact could be magnified at the school-wide level. Charlie Curry, my principal at the time, encouraged me to look at the bigger picture and where I might be able to impact more than just my own classroom. I’ve been fortunate to work with so many phenomenal people throughout my career, and their dedication and talent have constantly inspired and guided me. Becoming a principal felt like a natural step to support and amplify that great work — bringing people together, setting a shared vision, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to grow and excel.”
Thank you, Mr. Davis, for your dedication, vision, and passion for empowering both students and staff to reach their highest potential. 💙

When asked what advice she would give to students as they work toward their goals, she shared,
“If I could give students one piece of advice, it would be that where you start doesn’t decide where you will finish. Your past may shape you, but it does not define you. What matters are your choices, your effort, and your belief that you can rise above challenges and create your own future. Believe in your ability to start fresh, learn, and achieve great things!”
