🌟✨ Matilda Harris Elementary School teacher Mrs. Dekle’s 4th graders had an out-of-this-world experience connecting real images of stars, nebulas, constellations, and the moon to their classroom lessons! Guest astronomer, Mr. Jacks, amazed us with his telescope and shared the secrets behind capturing such detailed photos of space. He even demonstrated his quick skills in identifying constellations! 🌠👨🚀

🎉📚 Way to go, St. Marys Elementary! Last year, Mr. Starmer challenged his 4th-grade math students to meet their Georgia Milestone goals with a promise to sport a blue mohawk if they did. Well, challenge accepted and accomplished! These amazing students not only met their goals but crushed them! 🙌👏

🌟 Last week, our Matilda Harris Elementary School fifth grade scientists continued their study of constructive and destructive processes. Students shook sugar cubes in containers to observe changes caused by physical weathering and created models to view erosion and deposition in action. They then practiced classifying and ordering their models based on their observations. They even wrote claim and evidence statements to record what they observed through these labs, experiments, and demonstrations across the entire week! Great job to these fifth graders and their fearless and fabulous leader, Mrs. Purvis! 👩🔬🏔️🪨🥽🗒️💻📓❤️

Meanwhile, Mrs. Begnaud's Basic Ag students have been diving deep into Georgia Ag commodities. They’ve been exploring the fascinating differences between products and byproducts, and even made homemade butter to understand the process firsthand! 🧈🍞

🏐🎉 Our St. Marys Middle School Lady Bobcats made history this week by hosting their first-ever home volleyball match—and what a match it was! The team secured big wins against Glynn Middle School, sweeping them in straight sets with scores of 25-19 in both sets. It was a nail-biting game filled with intense, hold-your-breath volleys!
