On Saturday, December 6, eight talented members of Mrs. Wolfe’s *Volume One* had the incredible opportunity to participate in the annual **Holiday Tour of Plum Orchard** on Cumberland Island. ✨
Students enjoyed a private tour of the historic mansion before sharing their voices with **eight different tour groups** as they moved through the home. It was a truly special day filled with music, history, and community pride.
Cumberland Island is such a treasure right in our own backyard, and we’re proud to see our CCHS Fine Arts students representing us so beautifully! 💙🐾

🚨 School Bus Safety Reminder 🚨
We are seeing an increase in vehicles not stopping when school bus stop signs are extended. Please remember:
• Stop whenever a school bus stop sign is out.
• Watch carefully for children entering or exiting the bus.
• Slow down in school zones and near bus stops.
Your attention can prevent accidents and save lives. Let’s work together to keep our students safe! 🚌💙

Matilda Harris Elementary School Teacher of the Year
This week, we are proud to celebrate Meg Margaret Alexander, our K/1/2 Collaborative Special Education teacher, with over 32 years in education! Meg became a teacher to help young children develop a love of learning. She loves planning for different needs in her small groups and finds the greatest joy in seeing understanding and confidence grow in her students.
When she’s not teaching, Meg loves to surf—and if she weren’t a teacher, she’d be a National Park Ranger.
Her motto, “Being kind is easy and free,” reflects the heart she brings to every student and every day. 💛

This week, CCHS had the sweetest audience join them in the auditorium—students from our local elementary schools came to experience the holiday magic of “The Nutcracker,” performed by the incredibly talented CCHS dancers.
From wide-eyed wonder to big smiles during the Sugar Plum Fairy’s dance, these young Wildcats soaked in every moment. 💙🐾 The joy on their faces reminds us why the arts matter so much in our schools.
A huge thank-you to the Fine Arts Department and CCHS Dance for creating such a beautiful, memorable performance! 🎄✨

🎓Congratulations to our talented eighth graders: Janiya Everett (CMS student) and Q'naz Short (SMMS student)! They've been awarded the $10,000 REACH Georgia Scholarship! 🎉
REACH (Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen) is a mentoring and scholarship program providing promising students the support to graduate from high school and achieve postsecondary success.
In an effort to raise high school graduation rates in our state, REACH Georgia and REACH Georgia School Systems give support to the selected REACH Scholars beyond a financial scholarship. REACH Scholars are also given academic and social support to ensure they graduate from high school and attain a college degree or certificate. This multi-step approach leads to success for each child.📚✨
Interested in mentoring or supporting future scholars? Visit gafutures.org/REACH for more info! 🤝

Congratulations to Mrs. Mary Rowe!
We are proud to celebrate Mrs. Rowe, a dedicated CMS Special Education teacher with 22 years in education.
Mrs. Rowe chose teaching because of her lifelong passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. She believes in empowering her students to express themselves, build independence, and take an active role in their school community. Her favorite part of the job is watching her introverted students blossom into confident, outgoing learners.
A fun fact about her is that she and her students run the beloved Cougar Café—even though she doesn’t like the taste or smell of coffee!
If she weren’t a teacher, she’d be a recreation therapist, and when she’s not at school, you can find her relaxing by combing the beach for shark teeth.
Her life motto:
💬 “Every day is a good day, some are just better than others.”
Join us in celebrating Mrs. Rowe for her dedication, heart, and the incredible impact she makes at CMS! 💙🐾
