💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mrs. Terri Slattery, Principal of Sugarmill Elementary School and CCS Principal of the Year! When asked what she loves most about serving her students and staff, Mrs. Slattery shared: “What I love most about serving the students and staff at Sugarmill is the people — they’re truly the heart of everything I do. The joy on students’ faces as they walk through the doors, their excitement when they finally ‘get it,’ the stories, treasures, and little notes they share remind me every day why I chose this profession. I love being part of their growth, helping them work through challenges, and celebrating their successes along the way. Our teachers are equally special. They’re not just colleagues — they’re my Sugarmill School family. We laugh and cry together, lean on each other, and share the ups and downs that come with the job. Supporting them, both personally and professionally, brings me great joy. After more than 40 years in education, it’s the people — the students and the staff — who continue to inspire me and keep me excited to come to school every day.” Thank you, Mrs. Slattery, for leading with heart and creating a school community where everyone feels valued and inspired. 💙 #NationalPrincipalsMonth #BElieveinCAMDEN #WeAreCamden

💙🌟 October is National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mrs. Denise Millan, Principal of Woodbine Elementary School!

When asked to describe her school community in one word, she chose “family.”

“At Woodbine, we care deeply about one another — students, staff, and families alike. We celebrate each other’s successes and show up when life gets hard, both inside and outside of school. Whether it’s supporting a colleague through a tough day or rallying around a student who needs extra encouragement, we share a sense of connection and purpose that goes beyond our daily work. It truly feels like home.”

Thank you, Mrs. Millan, for leading with heart and creating a place where everyone belongs. 💙

Between school, activities, and life, it’s easy to feel like you have to say yes to everything. But constantly saying yes can leave you drained.

✅ It’s OK to set boundaries
✅ It’s OK to rest
✅ It’s OK to protect your peace

Saying “no” doesn’t mean you’re letting people down—
it means you’re lifting yourself up. 💙

Let’s keep showing up for ourselves this week, Camden. 💪
