Students in Mrs. Cabutto's class at MLCE had a magically fun time learning with Lucky Charms marshmallows! Each child received a unique mix of marshmallows and jumped right into sorting, graphing, and counting their colorful treasures.
As they worked, they used their math skills to compare their data and determine which groups had the greatest and least amounts. Hands-on learning + a little bit of sweetness = a lesson they won’t forget!

MLGES 4th-graders used LEGOs to complete different building challenges that focused on creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Each group had to design and build a structure that could solve a specific challenge.
Hands-on activities like this help students see how science, technology, engineering, and math connect to the real world. The creativity and teamwork in the room today were incredible! So proud of these young engineers and the effort they put into their designs. 🚀

🧬🍪 Learning Biology One Cookie at a Time! 🍪🧬
Students in Ms. Snow and Ms. Knight’s Biology classes at CCHS recently brought protein synthesis to life with a hands-on Protein Synthesis Cookie Lab! Using specially prepared sugar cookies as their models, students worked through the steps of DNA transcription and RNA translation in a creative (and tasty) way.
The learning didn’t stop there—students also headed outside for an interactive activity using colored chalk to visually compare DNA and RNA, helping reinforce the structural and functional differences between the two molecules.
A big shoutout to the CCHS Culinary students under the direction of Chef Hicks, who helped make the lab possible by baking the sugar cookies used in the activity. This collaboration between departments created a fun, engaging, and memorable learning experience for everyone involved! 👏

The 8th-grade Cougars in Mrs. Aviles’ Science Class at CMS turned their lab tables into a spectrum of discovery. Using Skittles and colored lights, students investigated the fascinating ways light is reflected and absorbed.
The big takeaway? They discovered exactly why objects can change their "look" depending on the light source. It turns out, color is all about how you see it! 💡🍬
Great job, Mrs. Aviles’ class, for shedding some light on how the world works!

We are proud to recognize Camden County High School art teacher Mr. Chris Dougherty, whose work has been selected for display in the “Art of Georgia” exhibit at the Georgia State Capitol.

Mr. Dougherty is among 40 contemporary Georgia artists whose landscape artwork has been chosen to be featured in the executive offices of the State Capitol and the Ballroom of the Governor’s Mansion. The curated display, presented by the Office of the Governor and the Georgia Council for the Arts, highlights the natural beauty of Georgia through the work of artists from communities across the state.

Rather than a public exhibit, “Art of Georgia” is displayed in official state spaces where policymakers, visitors, and dignitaries experience Georgia’s landscapes through the eyes of local artists. Mr. Dougherty shared that he is honored to have the opportunity to display his work and is inspired to create paintings that reflect the natural beauty of Coastal Georgia.

Congratulations to Mr. Dougherty on this incredible recognition. Camden County Schools is proud to have such a talented educator representing our community.
